I love making books! I have years of experience designing and laying out books and long-format reports: Choosing artwork, designing book covers, creating templates for multiple sections within a book, and laying out multiple pages with clean, easy-to-read — attractive and eye-catching — design. Combine that with attention to detail, fast turnaround, experience laying out in different languages, and a facility to create problem-free print-ready and digital files with user-friendly interactivity, no wonder I'm the daughter of a librarian/writer! ;]
Condé Nast annually publishes The New Yorker Desk Diary, a 12-month desktop calendar that includes cartoons, illustrations and vintage covers from The New Yorker Magazine, along with About Town listings and columns featuring some of the best places to go in New York City, by writers and artists from The New Yorker. Until they recently brought this job in-house, I had been laying out this beautiful diary for some time; it was always great fun, not least because I love the magazine and the final product so much!
Below are samples of some other books I've designed and done layout on for Calvary Hospital and WECAN publications.
