Amy Thesing Design is a graphic design company in Brooklyn, New York, specializing in print materials. With over 20 years of experience in the non-profit world, the majority of my clients are progressive organizations, schools, and individuals working in human rights, social services, education, and the arts. I work closely with my clients to create innovative design solutions to communicate their work beautifully, responding and adapting to their needs, while keeping costs affordable. After college I spent my early career in fundraising and development in the non-profit world. But with a passion for fine arts and a facility with computers and design, I shifted my focus and studied digital graphic design at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) along with several years' on-the-job experience and training at Gates Sisters Studio in NYC. I then developed a freelance client base of mostly progressive, non-profit organizations and schools, and have run my own business for over 15 years.

An artist and activist, I am trained in fine and graphic arts and highly skilled in Mac-based design programs (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.). I love typography and have a strong eye for color and composition. I am creative, detail-oriented, organized, and deadline focused, with experience and knowledge on the technical requirements of print and digital media, and how to make design translate well across media platforms. I communicate and work well with printers, photographers, event planners and fundraising/marketing departments. I offer advice and encouragement on the use of eco-sustainable and worker-friendly printing methods and products. I've lived and traveled in Latin America, speak and write Spanish fluently, and have done layout in several different languages.
